Lonnie M. Dorsey has experience and expertise in Family Law, Criminal Law, Medical Malpractice and Products Liability. Lonnie represents all parties in the Construction Industry; contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, owners and constructions managers to protect the client’s rights as well as avoid litigation. Mr. Dorsey can also assist in drafting contracts and other various documentation necessary to ensure the projects are completed thoroughly, and in a timely manner. Mr. Dorsey is a native of York, Pennsylvania where he was employed in the construction field for more than eight years with an established commercial and residential construction company. During that period of time, Mr. Dorsey was promoted to project manager where he gained skills and experience with all facets of the commercial and residential construction industry. His experience included examining and inspecting work progress, equipment and construction sites to verify safety and ensure that specifications were met; analyze and plan installation and construction of equipment and structures; and confer with personnel and subcontractors to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints, and performance of construction work in accordance with specifications. With that experience, Mr. Dorsey became extremely skilled in the planning and execution of construction projects during time critical environments; obtained extensive knowledge in directing, coordinating and exercising authority for planning, organization, control and completion of projects; developed skills in solving customer relations issues and became capable of effectively communicating with customers, contractors and management. Upon his graduation from York College of Pennsylvania, Mr. Dorsey relocated to Syracuse, New York where he attended Syracuse University College of Law. Upon his graduation in 2004 he was employed with Cherundolo Bottar & Leone, PLLC, (k/n/a Bottar Leone, PLLC) where he practiced in both Federal and State Court, representing injured individuals and their families in personal injury claims. Mr. Dorsey represented injured individuals and their families in lawsuits sounding in medical malpractice, wrongful death, product liability and catastrophic personal injury. He practiced in both State and Federal Court. Mr. Dorsey practiced at Sheats & Associates, (k/n/a Sheats and Baily) where he focused on representing and advising construction industry clients, including general contractors and sub-contractors, architects, engineers, developers, owners, lenders and suppliers, on a wide variety of litigation matters. Mr. Dorsey handled cases ranging from mechanic's lien claims and payment disputes to highly complex litigation including payment bond and lien claims, surety litigation, prevailing rate wage claims with the New York Department of Labor. Mr. Dorsey is a member of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, Onondaga County Bar Association, Oswego County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, American Association for Justice and Hispanic National Bar Association. Prior to graduation from law school, Mr. Dorsey interned in the Syracuse office of the New York State Attorney General. Mr. Dorsey resides in Syracuse with his wife and son. Mr. Dorsey is a member of the Onondaga County Bar Association, Oswego Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, American Bar Association and the American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America). |
